Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and Swearing In

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and yours!

I look forward to representing you in the New Year and I again thank you for your help and support as we worked together toward our goal.

Please attend the swearing in ceremony at 9 AM, January 2, at the Central Jury Room (Annex B) at the downtown courthouse on McDonald St, McKinney.

If you cannot attend the ceremony, look for an announcement from me concerning my salary.

Also, my first Commissioner's Court is scheduled for January 9 at 9 AM. Come see the people's business being conducted.

See you in the New Year!

Keith

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Citizens,

Preparation to take office has picked up pace since the November 7 general election. I attend a one-day training session this Wednesday and I have completed some of the administrative actions required by law before I take office.

The town hall meetings have given me opportunity to dialogue with citizens of several of our cities, and I appreciate all the inputs that I have received. I plan to continue some form of these meetings.

As I discuss the issues across the county and beyond, I become more convinced that there is ample opportunity to advocate and defend individual freedom and limited government against the encroachment of those who prefer a nanny state. Although we are known as a conservative area, we must be vigilant. We must be ever watchful that our decisions and actions are based on the principles and foundations that made our nation great. I believe in the resourcefulness, the energy, and the generosity of you - the citizen. I believe that you make the decisions every day that make your life what you want it to be. And I am committed to working to supply the infrastructure that will allow you to continue to live the life that you choose, consistent with a just society.

Unless a burning issue arises over the next few weeks, I may not blog again this year except to remind you of the public swearing-in ceremony at 9 AM, January 2, at the Central Jury Room at 210 S McDonald St, McKinney. I hope that you will join us.

I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Sincerely,
Keith Self
