I am pleased to report that Collin County’s FY2018 budget meets the needs of the county and watches out for your pocketbook at the same time.
The budget includes substantial new funding for the Sheriff’s Office and $38 million from the surplus which will be used to fund our major transportation needs until a bond election can be held in November 2018.
During the two previous public hearings on the tax rate only one single individual testified, and that testimony was in support of the proposed “no-new-taxes” rate.
On Monday, the Commissioners Court will hold another public hearing on the county budget followed by votes to approve any last-minute changes, finalize the budget, and set the tax rate.
I appreciate your support for your commissioners as they work to produce a sound, responsible budget each year. If you wish to testify on the budget Monday, please join us at 1:30 PM in the Commissioners Courtroom at 2300 Bloomdale Rd, McKinney.
